Dogs to Help Reduce Stress for Passengers at Larnaca Airport
Larnaca Airport has launched a new program where specially trained dogs will be present in the departure lounge to help passengers relax and unwind before their flights.
Hermes Airports, the operator of Cyprus airports, announced the launch of the "Preboarding Zen Mode" project, aimed at reducing passenger stress before flights.
Before the program's launch, all animals underwent several weeks of special training to work in the airport environment.
For the next two months, specially trained dogs will be present at the airport once a week, accompanied by professional dog handlers. Passengers will be able to pet the animals, which is expected to positively affect their emotional state.
"Having dogs in the departure lounge will help passengers who are stressed to relax before their flight," stated Hermes Airports.
Additionally, the creators of the idea believe it will encourage people to adopt dogs from shelters.
