Homemade Bomb Explodes Outside Home in Limassol
A homemade bomb exploded outside a residence in Limassol in the early hours of the morning, marking yet another unsettling incident in the city.
According to police reports, the explosion occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. in the Chavouza area. The device went off near the entrance of a 70-year-old man’s home.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the blast was caused by a low-yield improvised explosive device (IED), which had been placed on the wall of the building’s stairwell.
The explosion caused considerable damage, shattering the glass balcony door and damaging the interior of the home, as well as two cars parked nearby.
Limassol police have launched a full investigation and are working to determine who was behind the attack.
